It's only been about 3 months since Brandon lost his job, but those 3 months have no doubt been his worst. Friends who seemed to care about his welfare had sent him several job opportunities. But the thing was, the job offers were either not in his field or his qualifications were too good for the offers. He had hoped that starting this job at the company he applied for would pan out. At least his salary for the first 4 months would have helped him achieve some of his goals in the first half of the year, which included paying off his rent. But the year had just started and it seemed as though he was not making progress. Regardless, Brandon never allowed his job loss to get in his way of moving on. After a lot of head-scratching, Brandon reached out to his friend Larry, who shared significant ways in which Brandon could create the future he desired. The following are some of the ways Larry talked about:

Don't Be Held Down By Your Past

It is natural for a lot of things to have happened to you in the past, but you should know that they do not define you. You should stop giving your past so much power and move on. There are better things ahead of you, and until you get to move on, you will not access them. This is because your life's story is not just about where you have been or what you have done; it also comprises the journey you'd still have to make. The goals you have to achieve and the future you hope to create can't be done if your past still has a hold on you.

There's No Perfect Timing. Start Where You Are

Waiting for the perfect time is similar to procrastination, you will never start. You have to know that the perfect time you are searching for is now. So start now to read that book, apply for that job opening now, enrol for that course now. There is no better time than the present, and while you might think that there's a perfect time for what you want to do, there isn't. Waiting for a perfect time would be you procrastinating on what it is you need to do and the results you ought to be getting. Create the perfect opportunity that you need and make plans that'll make it all worthwhile.

It Gets Easier After The First Step

You can't fix something wrong if you don't see that there are things that need to be fixed. Admitting that you need help would make it easier for you to get it. They say that the first step is usually the hardest, and that's true for anything you might want to do in life.  You don't have to be paralyzed by fear because everything seems so much better after you have taken the first step. Beyond the limits of fear is a world of opportunities that you can explore once you've taken that first step.

Broaden Your Horizons

The world you live in is bustling with opportunities, and there are a lot of things you can do once you make up your mind. The idea is not to let your imagination hinder you, nor do you have to be stuck on what is normal and acceptable. Go as far as your dreams want you to and live a fulfilled life. Meet new people and form new acquaintances, make travel plans that are within your budget, and visit exotic places. You would see that you have a whole lot of options when you decide to come out of your shell. Sometimes your dream could be the desire to try something different—learning a new skill, perhaps digital skills. Skills ranging from video editing, WhatsApp monetization, UI/UX, trading skills, graphic designing, drone piloting, etc. Learning some of these skills increases your earning power and makes you feel good about a lot of things.

You Are In Control Of Your Life, Act Like It

Create the future you want based on the things you know are possible. If you go by other people's thoughts and opinions, you might not go as far as you'd like to. Take control of your life and purpose and make decisions that are best for you. If the future you desire is tech life, do something tech-related. And if you have an interest in graphic design and would like to make money from it, you can always opt for an online course. Your purpose should be similar to the future you desire, because that way, you won't be frustrated doing what you love.

Conclusion

There will be times when you feel like you are just not making any progress with yourself or your goals. You set goals that appear too difficult to achieve, even if you are doing the best you can. You feel stuck and begin to wonder if there's anything you can do to help you get better. Most of the time, what you need is just a single idea or a kind of clarity that makes your purpose appear more vibrant. Creating the future you want can appear difficult if you don't fully understand your purpose, dreams, and aspirations.

However, the first trick to creating the future you want is to identify what you would like to do, highlight what makes you happy, and do the things you have a natural flair for. With that, you will need to make the most of the future you want, and following the steps above would be a good way to start.
