Anyone at any age can make money on the internet. This has been proven by many young entrepreneurs that have sprung up in the last three years.

One of such young internet entrepreneurs is the 18-year-old affiliate marketer and crypto trader, Chigozie Emmanuel. He recently had a chat with Chris Ani on DABA’s Internet Business Show, where he shared powerful lessons on Affiliate Marketing. Here are some of the lessons:

• On your quest for financial freedom, starting an internet business is a good way to go.

• Affiliate marketing is a performance-based marketing system. Companies or business owners only reward you for marketing their products.

• There are two common forms of affiliate marketing: Cost-per-Acton (CPA) and Cost-per-Sale (CPS). In CPA, you get rewarded when someone takes action, while in CPS, you get paid for every sale that comes in through you. As long as you are convincing people to interact with a certain brand, you have a possibility of making money from affiliate marketing

• Anyone can venture into affiliate marketing. It is a real business and you can start it from anywhere in the world. Your work input determines the output you get. If you are ready to put in the work and show commitment, you can make a big deal out of it.

• Every industry has a market cap. There’s always a limit to the kind of money you can make in an industry. The income you make depends on the industry you are playing in. With a market cap of over $12B, affiliate marketing is an industry to be in.

• As a newbie, affiliate marketing opens you to many opportunities to learn how to build a website, run adverts, and design graphics. You also learn how to sell — a very important skill for earning online. As an affiliate marketer, you do not go through the stress of creating a product; you only market other people’s products.

• Challenges are constant in this industry. When you get through these challenges, they make you stronger. One thing that will speed up how you get through each challenge is mentorship. Have a mentor, be curious and ready to learn.

• If you want to be successful, the first skill you should learn is curiosity. When you are curious, there will be answers coming. Curiosity will help you succeed.

• Three things you can do to boost your income are Consistency, Compound action and Diversification. Pick a skill, consistently make money from it. Once you have been able to make a stable income from it, diversify to something else or even stay there as long as it is profitable.
